Pre-Procedure and Post-Procedure Guide

Pre-Procedure

  • 4 Weeks Before: Avoid sun tanning or self-tanners (spray tans, tanning lotions, tanning beds, excessive sun exposure).

  • A Few Days Before: Avoid skin irritants like products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, vitamin C/ascorbic acid, and astringents.

Day of Treatment:

  • Please arrive with a freshly cleansed face with no makeup.

  • Excess hair may need to be shaved. Men should be cleanly shaved.

  • Please notify our expert providers of any changes to your health history or medications since your last appointment/ consultation.

  • If you have a history of herpes or cold sores, please inform our expert providers as an anti-viral prescription may be required prior to treatment.

Post-Procedure

After RF Microneedling 

With or without 1540 nm treatment:

  • Immediately Following: Wait at least 4 hours before washing your face or applying soap, cream, or makeup to the treatment area.

  • For 3-5 Days: Do not wear a face mask for face treatments.

  • For 1-2 Days: Avoid heat (hot tubs, saunas, etc.).

After 1540 nm Treatment Only:

  • For at least 4 hours: Do not wash your face.

  • After 24 hours:you may continue any mild skincare regimen(excluding AHA’s and BHA’s) and makeup application.

  • For 7-10 days: Avoid skin irritants.

  • For 1-2 weeks: Avoid saunas and aggressive exercise that may cause excessive sweating.

General Aftercare

  • Protect Your Skin: Avoid sun exposure and diligently use a broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) SPF 50+ sunscreen.

  • Avoid Irritants: Avoid skin irritants (such as tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, vitamin C/ascorbic acid, and astringents) for a few days.

  • Soothe and Hydrate: You can keep your skin cool and moisturized by spraying with cold water. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

  • Be Observant: Bruising, redness, and swelling may occur and will typically resolve with time. Please notify our expert providers of any concerns (blistering, excessive redness/swelling, grid pattern, etc.).

  • Resume Skincare Gradually: To ensure the best possible healing and results, our expert providers may recommend a medical-grade skincare routine following your treatment. Please consult with our team about when to resume your full skincare regimen, including any new products..

How many Secret Duo treatments will I need?

Most patients see optimal results with a series of 3-4 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart. We'll personalize a treatment plan based on your individual needs and goals during your consultation. After your initial series of treatments, our expert providers may recommend maintenance sessions every 6 months to maintain optimal results.

Will the Secret Duo treatment hurt?

We prioritize your comfort. We use a topical numbing cream and the Zimmer Chiller to minimize discomfort during the treatment. You might experience some mild warmth or tightness afterward, but this is temporary and can be managed with our recommended skincare.

How long does it take to see results?

You'll notice a "glassy" glow immediately after. Full results, including improved firmness and texture, develop gradually over 12 weeks as your skin produces new collagen.

Can I wear makeup after my Secret Duo treatment?

It's best to avoid makeup for at least 24 hours after the treatment to allow your skin to heal.
