FAQs

How do I prepare for my laser genesis treatment?

2 weeks before your treatment you should prioritize sun protection by using SPF 50+ daily and diligently reapplying, avoiding sunburns, tanning beds, and self-tanners to prevent complications and maximize results. If you are receiving a red carpet facial, pause the use of any skincare products containing active ingredients like retinol, glycolic acid, AHAs, and BHAs at least 3 days before your treatment . These ingredients can make your skin more sensitive.

What is the downtime for Laser Genesis?

There is no downtime with any of the procedures. With the blood vessel treatments, some people will be a little rosy for an hour or so but other than that, there is no numbing and no downtime.

How many treatments will I need?

It depends on what skin condition you are treating. Many skin conditions only need one and some need a series of treatments. During our consultation, we can determine how many treatments you will need.

What are the downsides or side effects of this treatment?

There are no real downsides or side effects to this treatment. However, for vascular treatment it can sting a tiny slightly during whilst the machine is in use. We use an aloe gel while doing the procedure so most people don’t feel it. You may be a bit rosy for about an hour after but other than that no downside and most people only need one treatment.

How long does it take to see results?

It depends on which condition you are treating. For conditions that only require one treatment, you will see results before you leave the clinic. For conditions that require a series of treatments, you’ll see results depending on how many you need. However, you will see improvement gradually as you complete your sessions.

How frequently will I need treatment?

It is recommended that you have Laser Genesis sessions as needed but I recommend every quarter to every 6 months minimum. Some patients will come monthly for a facial to brighten and stimulate their skin. However, for those with vascular lesions usually do not need touch ups. Telangiectasias can reappear and may new treatment. Sun spots/skin texture/rosacea may need maintenance and other sessions and will need to use SPF daily. So for ideal results, they will most likely need monthly sessions to keep their skin healthy and glowing and minimize the possibility of the imperfections reforming. As you can see, how often you will need treatment depends upon what condition you are treating.
