The ETHEREA-MX Laser is very safe and feels like a mild heating sensation. Most patients say it feels like a slight warming of the skin. Most of our treamtents can be combined with our Zimmer Chiller which will help negate the warm sensation to ensure the most comfortable treatment! Topical numbing is rarely needed but can be added as needed.

What can I expect immediately after the ETHEREA-MX handPICO Laser treatment?

You may look a little red immediately after your Etherea-MX handPICO Laser treatment but this will resolve on its own within 30 minutes to several hours, depending on your skin type. You will expect your skin to feel slightly warm and enjoy a tightness to the skin

When will I see results?

You may see some flaking of your skin over the next few days after treatment and will see refreshed younger looking skin after 7-10 days

When can I go back to my regular activities?

With the Etherea-MX Laser treatment, you can go back to your regular lifestyle that day with little to no downtime! It is encouraged to hydrate well before and after treatment but all regular activities can be resumed!

What can I use on my skin after my ETHEREA-MX handPICO Laser Treatment?

Good aftercare will help maintain the results from your treatment and protect your skin for longer. It’s recommended to always wear a sunscreen of SPF 50 or higher and use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer. It’s recommended to use Central Park Skin Lab products due to their medical grade potency to ensure the best results! Procedure Guide

Pre-Procedure

• 1 Month Before: Follow any special skincare instructions provided during your consultation. Otherwise, continue with your normal skincare regime.
• 2 Weeks Before: Use SPF50+! Avoid sunburns, tanning beds, and self-tanners.
• 3 Days Before: Continue your normal skincare regime but stop using active ingredients (AHA and BHAs, such as Retinol, glycolic acid, etc.). Maintain consistent SPF application.
• Morning of Appointment: Cleanse thoroughly and arrive with clean skin. Depending on the treatment area, loose-fitting clothes may be required.
• Avoid any chemical peels or injectable treatments (such as Botox or fillers) within two weeks of your skin rejuvenation treatment.

Post Procedure

Patients may experience a slight redness or pinkness which should subside within an hour or two.

• Depending on the treatment area, patients can apply makeup immediately afterwards, if desired.
• Use SPF50+ diligently, especially during the healing process.
• Resume your normal skincare routine in the evening, avoiding active ingredients for 24-48 hours.
• Resume all skincare products, including actives, the next day onward. Continue to protect your skin with SPF50+. (Melasma is not curable! Please be good about SPF 50+ daily to minimize the chances of recurrence!)
• Hydrate well!
